Este Blog dedica-se aos IBÉRIA, banda de Hard Rock da Baixa da Banheira, Portugal. Chamo-me João Sérgio e sou o Baixista Co-Fundador. Tive esta ideia por achar que a banda teve um lugar de destaque no Metal Nacional e por isso merecia um lugar na net. Com o regresso dos Ibéria criamos o Site, Myspace e Hi5 oficiais da banda, mas mantenho no entanto este Blog. Espero que curtam e participem, escrevendo as vossas opiniões sobre o grupo. Bem Hajam! Este foi o logotipo dos Ibéria desde o inicio. Foi criado pelo Rui, um amigo desenhador da turma do Caldeira e do João Roque,na Escola Secundária de Sto. André e foi mais tarde passado do carvão para o aerógrafo do Armando Modesto.. a malta da banda curtiu o efeito das laminas metalicas no nome e desde então assim ficou..hoje se calhar seria feito por computador e seria metalizado..sabe-se lá..houveram variações, nomeadamente na capa do segundo album (Heroes of the Wasteland), mas quase sempre foi usado este, com fundo branco ou preto.

Poucos hoje em dia terão a mais leve ideia do que foram os Ibéria. Para mim, o LP "Ibéria", de 1988, foi uma introdução ao Metal que definiu para sempre a minha pessoa musical. Que pena a música portuguesa em Inglês ser tão ostracizada na altura. Se fosse hoje... Aqui, na Baixa da Banheira, os Ibéria eram uma espécie de heróis locais e o seu legado não deverá ser esquecido. Não havendo reedições dos albuns em CD no mercado, acho que seria excelente poder-se disponibilizar versões mp3 do material de Ibéria para os fãns. Para que possa dar descanso à minha cassete velhinha de 1988. À atenção do blogger.

Hoje cheguei por acaso ao site. Recordo com saudade os anos 80 quando eu e outros, fãs de Black Cross e a "rivalidade" que havia entre os fãs das 2 bandas. Géneros totalmente diferentes entre o black metal e o Vosso hard n' heavy. As maiores felicidades João Sérgio. Um abraço, já não te vejo há uns anos valentes.

Olá joão sergio,descobri hoje este teu blog,e deixa-me dizer-te que fiquei muito satisfeito em me lembrar dos velhos tempos.nessa altura ,eu tambem era um puto residente tambem na baixa da banheira,e tambem vosso fan. ainda hoje tenho o vosso vinil,que já não ouço porque não tenho gira discos mas tal como outras bandas ,a vossa gostava de adquirir em cd para matar as saudades dos velhos tempos.ainda me lembro de quando ia ao cinema junto ao parque estrela vermelha,e te via no cinema.tenho pena que voçês tenham acabado.acho que seria um espectaculo se os iberia volta--sem a tocar .um grande abraço a toda a velha guarda do metal.
Também eu recordo com muita saudade esses anos, e continuo a ser grande fã dos Ibéria. Ainda tenho o single que me ofereceu o João Alexandre, com o Lady in Black, e que ainda sei de memória e que adoro. Éramos amigos e colegas na Escola Secundária do Barreiro, nos Casquilhos. Lembro-me da formação da banda, do João me mostrar o logótipo, que ainda sei desenhar, e de escutar a demo que ouvimos vezes sem conta. Tinha todas as versões da demo, incluindo a acústica, mas seguramente as cassetes já estarão completamente danificadas. Também era tua amiga, João Sérgio, e ainda nos encontramos diversas vezes no barco. Agora já trabalho nesta banda de cá.
Neste preciso momento, estava a falar com um colega desses anos e claro que falei dos meus queridos Ibéria. Agora já estamos todos mais velhotes, mas a boa música nunca nos deixa. Até fiquei emocionada de encontrar o teu blog.
Tenho imensas saudades dele e tuas e espero ver-te novamente. Vai um cafézinho? :o)
